Job Description – Painting Inspector

Position: Painting Inspector
Location: Qatar
Project Duration: 3 Months (Extendable)
Working Hours: 10 hours/day, 6 days/week
Mobilization: Immediate after interview
Salary: To be discussed

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Painting Inspector for an Oil & Gas project in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that surface preparation, painting, and coating activities are executed in compliance with approved specifications, international standards, and project quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect surface preparation, painting, and coating activities in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, and international standards.

Ensure compliance with relevant standards such as ISO, NACE, SSPC, ASTM, and project-specific requirements.

Perform coating inspections using relevant instruments, including DFT gauges, surface profile gauges, hygrometers, and adhesion testers.

Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point) before and during coating application.

Identify painting defects, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Review and verify material certificates, paint data sheets, and method statements.

Prepare and submit inspection reports, daily logs, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) as required.

Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and client representatives to resolve quality-related issues.

Ensure all painting activities comply with HSE and quality requirements.

Qualification & Certification Requirements

BGAS Grade 2 or NACE Level 2 Certification (Mandatory).

Minimum 5 years of post-certification experience.

Diploma or technical qualification is preferred.

Experience Requirements

Minimum 8+ years of experience in Oil & Gas projects.

Strong knowledge of international painting inspection and testing standards.

Proven hands-on experience with coating inspection tools and instruments.

Experience in identifying coating failures, defects, and preventive measures.

Good command of written and spoken English.
