Job Description – Mechanical Inspector
Position: Mechanical Inspector
Location: Dukhan, Qatar
Duration: 6 months (extendable based on project requirements)
Contract Type: Contract Basis
Key Responsibilities:
Perform inspections of static and rotating equipment during erection, alignment, and testing activities.
Verify compliance with purchase order requirements, industry standards, and specifications.
Review and interpret engineering drawings, technical standards, and project specifications.
Conduct quality checks with minimal supervision to ensure supplier compliance.
Provide inspection reports and support project teams in resolving technical issues.
Qualifications & Requirements:
HND/Diploma or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 10 years of inspection experience in manufacturing plants, including at least 2 years in mechanical commodities and processes.
Thorough knowledge of codes and standards such as:
ASME Sec I, V, VIII, IX
ANSI B31.3/31.4/31.8
API 610/613/616/617/618/620/650/682
AWS D1.1/CSWIP 3.1 and NACE standards
Experience in process equipment internals, installations, and fabrication methods.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems.
NDT / Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) certification desirable.
Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
